Malaysia and Russia will enhance their collaboration in science and higher education during the upcoming 4th Joint Commission for Economic, Scientific, Technical, and Cultural Cooperation (JC-ESTC) meeting in Langkawi this November.
Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Zambry Abdul Kadir shared on X that this cooperation has been ongoing since the formation of JC-ESTC in 2015. At the 2024 meeting, both nations, co-chaired by the Russian science and higher education minister, explored ways to boost student exchange, research collaboration, and cooperation in commerce, culture, and tourism.
Dr. Zambry addressed these developments in his speech at the 16th Russia-Islamic World International Economic Forum (KazanForum 2025), focusing on partnerships in a multipolar world order.
Zambry is currently in Russia as part of the Malaysian delegation led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on an official visit from May 13 to 17 at the invitation of President Vladimir Putin.
