More than 12,000 bodies trapped under Gaza rubble: Media Office chief

Salama Maarouf, head of Gaza’s Government Media Office, stated that over 12,000 bodies are believed to be trapped under the rubble in the enclave due to the lack of equipment for retrieval, which he attributed to Israeli border restrictions.

Speaking at a news conference at the Baptist Hospital in Gaza City, Maarouf said Israeli authorities have not permitted the entry of heavy machinery into Gaza. He also noted that, under these conditions, Hamas would be unable to fulfill its commitment to return the bodies of Israeli captives killed in the bombardments.
