Malaysia’s flood situation has been constantly monitored by the People’s Republic of China Embassy, which is actively looking for methods to assist flood victims.

Offering support and aid to one another during difficult times is a shared virtue and goal of both Islamic and Chinese civilizations, according to Chinese ambassador to Malaysia Ouyang Yujing.

“The Chinese Embassy has been conducting public welfare initiatives in collaboration with civil society organizations and some Malaysian departments over the years.

He stated in his remarks during the presentation of humanitarian aid to flood victims at the SK Pulau Rusa here on Sunday (Jan 12) that Yayasan Ikram Malaysia is one of the most significant Islamic NGOs (non-governmental organizations) and a significant long-term partner of the embassy, and we frequently work together on many initiatives.

The organization received RM50,000 in aid from the embassy to help 500 flood victims from Pulau Rusa, including blankets, pillows, towels, and bed mattresses.

“There is a Malaysian saying that goes ‘bukit sama didaki, lurah sana dituruni’ that is similar to a Chinese saying meaning – when one is in trouble, help comes from all sides.

He urged everyone to cooperate in order to overcome the challenges, make greater contributions to the China–Malaysia community with a shared future, and build a better future for the citizens of both nations.
