Pro-Net has reported that the Proton e.MAS 7 has had over 2,500 bookings thus far. The introduction of the national automaker’s first-ever EV last week marks a new milestone.

Based on the volume of bookings, the e.MAS 7 might become Malaysia’s most popular EV model by 2025. In comparison, the popular BYD Atto 3, which debuted locally two years ago, had 5,939 registrations in Malaysia as of November 2024.

Pro-Net CEO Zhang Qiang stated, “The excitement Malaysians have exhibited for the Proton e.MAS 7 demonstrates their willingness to embrace sustainable mobility. The Proton e.MAS 7 is the right solution for people wishing to electrify their travels, combining innovative features with outstanding pricing. This EV is a big step forward for not only Proton but also Malaysia’s green automotive future.

To reiterate, the first 3,000 clients will receive a special RM4,000 launch rebate. The Proton e.MAS 7 is officially available for RM109,800 for the Prime model and RM123,800 for the Premium option. With the special launch rebate, you can get the Prime and Premium models for RM105,800 and RM119,800, respectively.

As announced at the launch, Proton e.MAS 7 buyers can advantage of an exclusive package worth up to RM8,000, which includes a free 7kW home charger, a free V2L adapter, 5 years of unlimited internet data, a special 1.98% interest rate from Proton Commerce, and a RM1,200 exclusive Proton owner trade-in rebate.

The Proton e.MAS 7 comes with a 6-year/unlimited mileage vehicle warranty and an 8-year/160,000 km guarantee on the high-voltage battery, driving motor, and driving motor controllers. Pro-Net has verified that the high-voltage guarantee includes severe deterioration and offers battery replacement if the condition of health falls below 70%. This brings the e.MAS 7’s battery warranty coverage on par with that of Tesla and BYD.

Deliveries of the Proton e.MAS 7 are planned to begin in early 2025.

In summary, the Proton e.MAS 7 boasts a single front motor that generates 160 kW (215 hp) and 320 Nm of torque. It can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds, with a peak speed of 175 km/h.

The e.MAS 7 Prime and Premium are powered by Geely’s Aegis Short Blade LFP batteries. The Prime option has a lower 49.52kWh battery with a WLTP-rated range of up to 345km, but the Premium has a greater 60.22kWh capacity with a WLTP-rated range of up to 410km.

Both e.MAS 7 models include a three-phase AC onboard charger with a capacity of up to 11 kW. The Prime supports up to 80 kW of DC rapid charging, while the Premium can charge at up to 100 kW. Proton claims that DC fast charging allows the e.MAS 7 to charge 30–80% in approximately 20 minutes.
