PM Anwar : RM50 million emergency relief to Terengganu and Kelantan, affected by floods

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced today that each state will immediately receive an additional RM25 million due to the severe flooding in Kelantan and Terengganu.

The Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU) of the Prime Minister’s Department will receive the funds, according to the finance minister Anwar, for the repair of crucial infrastructure such as roads and drainage systems, as well as for raising road levels in Hulu Besut.

In addition, he stated that the Federal Government has decided to provide an additional RM500 to over 14,000 civil workers in Terengganu, amounting to a total of RM7.4 million.

After meeting flood victims at the Temporary Evacuation Center (PPS) at Sekolah Kebangsaan, Kampung Telaga Papan, Setiu, where 269 people are currently staying, he made the announcements.

At 10:25 a.m. today, the prime minister arrived at Sultan Mahmud International Airport in Kuala Terengganu to personally check out the flooding in the state.
