PRKM and Pet Universe work together to improve the welfare of cats

The Malaysian Cat Lovers Association (PRKM) and Pet Universe have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to further their dedication to the promotion of responsible pet ownership, with the objective of enhancing the welfare of pets.

The signing ceremony for the Memorandum of Understanding took place at Wisma Pet Universe in Ampang, Selangor.

The collaboration also reinforces their joint efforts to raise awareness about cat welfare and underscore the significant role of pets as family members, as per Pet Universe.

This agreement represents a new chapter in the partnership between PRKM, an organization dedicated to the promotion of cat welfare, and Pet Universe, a provider of top-tier pet care services, including grooming, hotels, academies, and veterinary medical centers.

Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, the Bandar Tun Razak Member of Parliament and patron of PRKM, launched the initiative at the Madani Cat Park’s opening last year, and the collaboration serves to support it.

“PRKM will be instrumental in educating the community about responsible cat care practices, while Pet Universe will offer its exceptional facilities and expertise.”

Pet Universe states that this partnership involves organizing workshops, seminars, and activities aimed at engaging and educating the community about the importance of caring for canines as valued family members.

The MoU was previously signed by Dr. Anya Chiu, Chief Executive Officer of Pet Universe Group, and PRKM Secretary, Mohd Edi Armishah Mohamed.

Dr. Wan Azizah, the Prime Minister’s wife, and Datuk Azman Abidin, the Prime Minister’s Political Secretary, witnessed the MoU signing ceremony.

Earlier in her speech, Dr. Wan Azizah asserted that a positive relationship between humans and canines, particularly cats, can enhance the quality of life.

She wished for better treatment of pets, especially “stray cats,” which would lead to their adoption.

Pet Universe subsequently granted Dr. Wan Azizah the privilege of naming a kitten they had recently rescued. She selected the name “Snowflake.”
