People who were against the “watch party” at the Guinness Storehouse being held by the US embassy in Dublin to see the early stages of the election results were protesting.

Activists partly slowed down traffic as a line of taxis dropped off some of the 1,000 people on the guest list who were supposed to attend.

People who were protesting were worried about how the US was supporting Israel in its war in Gaza and how the conflict in the Middle East was getting worse.

They used megaphones and Palestinian flags to chant, “Genocide supporters, shame on you.”

Claire D. Cronin, who is the US ambassador to Ireland, was in charge of the event.

About 1,000 people from the diplomatic corps, the Irish government, the artistic and media sectors, and civil society were planned to attend.
