Focus on assisting the people instead of politics: Zahid

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi urged all political parties to prioritize the welfare of the populace during this period rather than becoming entangled in political maneuvering.

The Wilayahku portal reports that the Chairman of Barisan Nasional (BN) has entrusted Amanah with the responsibility of determining the party’s objectives regarding the contest for 20 Johor state assembly seats at the state level.

He does not dismiss the potential for a three-cornered contest involving Pakatan Harapan (PH), BN, and Perikatan Nasional (PN) in Johor during the forthcoming elections.

During the Johor state election of 2022, UMNO secured victory in 40 out of 56 available seats. The PH coalition, which included DAP, achieved a total of 10 seats, whereas both PKR and AMANAH managed to win one seat each.

PN secured three seats, Bersatu obtained two, and PAS claimed one seat. In the interim, Muda has successfully secured one seat.

The Unity Government was formed at the federal level as well as in Pahang, Perak, and Selangor through the coalition of PH and BN.
