PUTRAJAYA: The 2024 National Symposium, aimed at ending poverty, serves as a platform for sharing views, expertise, and experiences to enhance the government’s efforts to combat poverty more effectively across the nation.

According to the portal Wilayahku, Minister of Economy Rafizi Ramli stated that everyone is aware of the government’s commitment to eradicating poverty.

“This symposium highlights discussions on several key issues such as the concepts and approaches to ending poverty, the need for financing, and the effectiveness of governance in seeking the best solutions for the government to consider.

“This involves four discussion sessions featuring prominent figures and experts from the government, private sector, academia, non-governmental organizations, and civil society organizations,” he said.

He made these remarks during the launch of the 2024 National Symposium: Ending Poverty at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC).

According to Rafizi, today’s discussions are important for evaluating existing methods and outlining the direction for poverty eradication efforts.

He believes that the participation of various stakeholders will broaden the discussions, fostering a clear understanding and finding effective and innovative solutions.

“This symposium, themed ‘Together, Empowered, and Sustainable,’ reflects the six principles of a civil society, particularly focusing on efforts to end poverty.

“‘Together’ refers to a whole-of-nation approach as a crucial foundation for driving progress in various aspects.

“‘Empowered’ relates to ensuring an individual’s capability to perform well or achieve certain goals.

“‘Sustainable’ is associated with the continuous implementation of efforts and achievements,” he said.
