KUALA LUMPUR: The Federal Territories Department and its agencies are committed to ensuring that all communities, especially in the Federal Territories, can own their homes.

According to the Wilayahku portal, Dr. Zaliha Mustafa, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories), stated that the department has identified several additional sites in Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya for the development of more residential units under the Madani Residency Program.

“In Putrajaya, for instance, 1,336 units of Madani Sentral Residences are currently under construction and are expected to be completed by 2027.

“I am confident that this Madani project will certainly benefit everyone, especially the target groups, by providing them with a more meaningful living experience,” she said during the Launch and Groundbreaking Ceremony of Residensi Suria Madani in Taman Desa.

Zaliha added that the Madani Residency Program in the Federal Territories complements the existing affordable housing program, Residensi Wilayah.

She noted that the focus of this initiative is on vulnerable groups and those with low to moderate incomes, or B40.

“Through this program, we have introduced various categories for sale and rental based on the needs and financial capacity of the target groups.

“Applications are also open specifically for Federal Territories residents who have never owned a home or are first-time homebuyers,” she said.

Zaliha explained that residential units under the Madani Residency Program are comfortably sized between 700 and 800 square feet, with sale prices ranging from RM150,000 to RM200,000 per unit.

She added that the Suria Madani project being launched today is priced at RM200,000 per unit, with an area of 800 square feet.
