Merdeka Jalur Gemilang convoy arrives in Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya
KUALA LUMPUR: The Merdeka Jalur Gemilang (KMJG) 2024 convoy from Selangor has arrived in the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya (WPKLP) after completing visits to three stopover locations in Selangor today.
The symbolic handover of the Jalur Gemilang baton was conducted by the Chief of the KMJG Selangor convoy, Normaizatulakmal Tujad, to the Chief of the WPKLP convoy, Lt. Col. Bersekutu (PA) Sabarudin Yeop Hamza.
This Jalur Gemilang baton was then handed over to the Minister of Communications and Member of Parliament for Lembah Pantai, Fahmi Fadzil, as a symbolic start to the KMJG WPKLP journey.
In addition to supporting and promoting the theme of National Day and Malaysia Day 2024, “Malaysia MADANI: Jiwa Merdeka,” KMJG, organized by the Department of Information Malaysia (JAPEN), also aims to disseminate various programs.
This is through the nation-building and patriotism cluster, taking into account the implementation of the six main pillars of Madani to be celebrated across all levels of society.
Subsequently, the convoy will proceed to Pasar Wirawati in Taman Maluri tomorrow, where it will be welcomed by the Minister of Plantation and Commodities and Member of Parliament for Titiwangsa, Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani.
The final location for the WPKLP stage will be at the DBKL Training Institute, where it will be welcomed by the Prime Minister’s wife, Datuk Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, who is also the Member of Parliament for Bandar Tun Razak.
The Jalur Gemilang baton will then be handed back to the KMJG 2024 secretariat, which will continue the convoy as the KMJG Contingent during the National Day Parade and March on August 31, 2024, at Putrajaya Square.
Also present were the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Communications, Datuk Mohamad Fauzi Md Isa, the Director of Information, Julina Johan, and the Mayor of Kuala Lumpur, Datuk Seri Kamarulzaman bin Mat Salleh.
