ADUN Mahkota Johor passes away

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Sharifah Azizah Syed Zain, the State Assemblywoman (ADUN) for Mahkota, has sadly passed away at the age of 63.

The news was shared by Johor Chief Minister Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi on his Facebook page.

“I am deeply saddened to hear of Sharifah’s passing. Her loss is profoundly felt as she was a leader who was approachable and beloved. Her contributions and dedication to Johor, especially to the Mahkota constituency, will not be forgotten,” he said.

Last Wednesday, Sharifah was reported to be in critical condition and was being treated for internal bleeding at the Enche’ Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital in Kluang.

Haliza Abdullah, the Chief of UMNO Women for Batu Pahat, mentioned that she was informed about Sharifah’s condition by several UMNO Women members from Johor.

Sharifah Azizah, who was also the Chief of UMNO Women for Kluang and a former Chief of UMNO Women for Johor, won the Mahkota State Assembly seat in the Johor State Election in 2022.

Prior to that, Sharifah Azizah served as the ADUN for Penawar from 2018 to 2022.
