Puteri Sarah files lawsuit against former employee for defamation
KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Puteri Sarah Liyana Kamaruddin is moving forward with her legal action against her former employee, Nazatul Nazira.
According to a report from Berita Harian, the 38-year-old actress has lodged two separate charges against Nazatul—one for defamation and the other for breach of trust.
Puteri Sarah arrived at the Kuala Lumpur Court Complex at 2:25 p.m. today, accompanied by her attorney, Mohd Azmi Rais. She expressed confidence that justice would be served and was determined to prove her innocence.
“I am fighting for my rights and have been waiting for two years to clear my name. We will see if this issue can be resolved. If the other party chooses to be difficult, I will respond in kind. I have been patient long enough and want to set the record straight,” she told reporters.
Previously, Puteri Sarah had filed a claim for RM1 million in damages from Nazatul, alleging that the former employee made defamatory statements against her. These accusations included claims that Puteri Sarah was involved in substance abuse, supported an individual named Andy, and was a mistreating employer and business partner. Nazatul also allegedly referred to her as arrogantly foolish.
Puteri Sarah is now seeking a retraction of these statements and a public apology from her former employee.
