8 areas in Peninsular Malaysia record heatwave at Alert Level 1
KUALA LUMPUR: Eight areas in Peninsular Malaysia recorded heatwave conditions at Alert Level 1 this morning.
According to Berita Harian, the Malaysian Meteorological Department (METMalaysia) reported on Facebook that as of 6 a.m., the areas experiencing Alert Level 1 heatwave conditions include Larut and Matang in Perak, Gombak in Selangor, and Kuala Krai in Kelantan.
It also mentioned that Raub, Temerloh, Maran, Bentong, and Rompin in Pahang have recorded similar weather conditions.
“Alert Level 1 heatwave refers to a daily maximum temperature of 35 to 37 degrees Celsius for at least three consecutive days.
“For the latest information on daily heatwave status, please refer to https://www.met.gov.my/iklim/status-cuaca-panas/,” it said.
