KUALA LUMPUR: The Ministry of National Unity is prepared to collaborate with any party if referred to assist, should there be a need to draft specific legislation concerning race, religion, and royalty (3R) issues in the country.

Reported by Bernama, Deputy Minister of National Unity K. Saraswathy stated that they are open to sharing all information or data involving issues that could disrupt racial harmony.

“We are ready to provide insights and reviews, particularly regarding information or data related to these 3R issues if requested,” she said when met after officiating the 2024 International Conference on Corps Research (ICRC 2024) at Sultan Idris University of Education (UPSI) here last night.

On May 4, Mujibu Abd Muis, Chair Fellow of the Malay Rulers Institution at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), suggested that individuals touching on 3R issues should face stringent action because such actions are very serious and could threaten the harmony and unity of the people.

Meanwhile, Saraswathy noted that 3R issues typically arise and become topics of discussion among various segments of society during election seasons.

“The sentiment surrounding 3R is seasonal in nature, but based on our records, it tends to increase slightly during election periods and then decreases afterward,” she said.
