Anwar prays for Malaysia’s contingent success at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games
KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called upon the Malaysian people to show united support for the national contingent embarking on the mission to achieve Malaysia’s first gold medal dream at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, commencing tomorrow.
Reported by Bernama, he stated that Malaysians should also pray for the national contingent to make history, achieve excellent performances, and win medals in the events they participate in.
“Together, let us follow, watch, and pray that with the grace of Allah SWT, Team MAS succeeds. Let us wish them all the best and success,”
“Wishing all 26 national athletes the best of luck. The prayers of all Malaysians accompany your steps in Paris, insya-ALLAH,” he said through a post on Facebook along with a brief message in a 56-second video.
The Malaysian contingent will face the challenge of the nation in the prestigious sports event through participation in nine sports including diving, swimming, sailing, shooting, track cycling, road cycling, weightlifting, badminton, golf, archery, and athletics.
The country will commence competition tomorrow when young archer Ariana Nur Dania Mohamad Zairi takes action in the women’s recurve event, a day before the opening ceremony of the sports event this Friday.
The event, which takes place every four years, will open on July 26 and conclude on August 11.
