KUALA LUMPUR: The Pakatan Harapan (PH) machinery is ready to assist in the campaign efforts for the Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate in the Nenggiri by-election, said PH Communications Director Fahmi Fadzil.

According to Bernama, Fahmi, who is also the Minister of Communications, said his team will coordinate with the office of UMNO Gua Musang Chief Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah to assess the needs for supporting the campaign.

“We will provide good cooperation, and I personally hope the campaign will proceed in an orderly manner without using offensive language or hurting sentiments. Campaign well, including on social media,” he said when met by Bernama at the National Palace.

Earlier, Fahmi reviewed the full rehearsal of the 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s Coronation Ceremony and attended a briefing from representatives of the Protocol and International Conference Secretariat, National Palace, and the Prime Minister’s Department.

Yesterday, UMNO Kelantan Liaison Chairman Datuk Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub announced that UMNO Kelantan Youth Chief Mohd Azmawi Fikri Abdul Ghani has been selected as the BN candidate for the Nenggiri by-election.

Kelantan State Assembly Speaker Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah declared the Nenggiri state seat vacant on June 19 after Mohd Azizi Abu Naim was expelled from BERSATU on June 13.

Following this, the Election Commission (EC) set the nomination day and early voting for the by-election on August 3 and August 13 respectively, with August 17 as the polling day.
