MoE guarantees that no excellent student will drop out, said Fadhlina
KUALA LUMPUR: The Ministry of Education (KPM) has given assurances that the issue of excellent 10A Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) students who have not yet secured a place to continue their studies will be resolved.
Berita Harian reported that the Minister of Education, Fadhlina Sidek, said that no excellent student would drop out and the ministry asked all students and parents not to worry about the matter.
“The appeal process for admission to the Ministry of Education’s Matriculation Program has been completed and the results were announced today.
“I am aware that there are still outstanding 10A SPM students who have applied, but have not been able to find a place to continue their studies.
“Don’t worry, no outstanding student will drop out, give it some time and I promise the placement of outstanding students who have not been placed will be completed,” he said in a statement today.
At the same time, Fadhlina said, the Ministry of Education and Culture along with the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) are taking steps and taking a proactive approach to ensure that the opportunity to continue their studies is given to all outstanding SPM students.
He said, the MADANI government’s initiative to ensure that all excellent SPM students who obtained 10A results get a place to continue their studies is a bold step to ensure that no one is marginalized.
“The commitment of the MADANI government to ensure that the rights of Bumiputeras continue to be protected is also proven through the maintenance of the existing Bumiputera quota for the KPM Matriculation Program,” he said.
