Haze: Kuala Lumpur Schools to Open Tomorrow, Parents May Choose to Keep Children at Home
KUALA LUMPUR: All educational institutions under the Ministry of Education Malaysia (MOE) in the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur will operate as usual with face-to-face classes tomorrow, despite the ongoing haze.
However, all activities outside classrooms have been suspended as a precautionary measure to protect the health of students and school staff.
The Kuala Lumpur Federal Territory Education Department (JPWPKL) said in a statement today that parents or guardians concerned about their children’s health due to the haze would be given the flexibility to keep them at home.
“However, parents or guardians must inform the school of their children’s absence,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, JPWPKL also encouraged students and school staff to wear face masks as a protective measure to reduce exposure to air pollution.
All parties were also reminded to stay informed about the latest haze developments and follow health-related advice issued by the relevant authorities.
JPWPKL emphasised that the safety, health and well-being of students and education personnel remained its top priorities in ensuring that schooling could continue safely.
