The government approved 100,000 diesel subsidy cash assistance applications under Budi Madani

PUTRAJAYA: The Ministry of Finance has approved 100,000 diesel subsidy cash assistance applications under the Budi Madani initiative for individual diesel vehicle owners, farmers and gardeners as of today.

According to Kosmo Online, Minister of Finance II, Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan said, the aim of diesel subsidy targeting is to focus aid on deserving sectors and needy sections of society.

“The cash assistance set at RM200 per month is to cover additional diesel expenses for more than 80% of individual diesel vehicle owners.

“I call on eligible Malaysians to immediately register to get diesel cash assistance payments in June,” he said in a statement.

He said, the government is committed to channeling Budi Madani cash assistance starting in the month the application is made.

“A total of 30,000 applicants received cash assistance payments on June 10, followed by 46,000 applicants who received payments today.

“For those who apply before the end of June, applicants will receive payment in early July 2024,” he said.

He also said that eligible applicants will receive RM200 monthly assistance through their respective bank accounts or get cash payments at Bank Simpanan Nasional counters.

The Budi Madani initiative which has been open since May 28, 2024 is a platform to distribute diesel subsidy cash assistance to diesel vehicle owners.

An estimated 300,000 individual private diesel vehicle owners in Peninsular Malaysia are eligible to receive Budi Individu.

Meanwhile, nearly 400,000 farmers and small-scale gardeners qualified to receive benefits from Budi Agri-Commoditi.
