Husband and Wife Killed, Four-Year-Old Son Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash

TAMPIN: A husband and wife were killed while their four-year-old son was injured in a two-vehicle crash along Jalan Gemencheh here on Monday.

Tampin District Police Chief Superintendent Amiruddien Sariman said that in the 10.55am incident, the 26-year-old woman, who was the front passenger of a Proton Wira, died at the scene, while her 27-year-old husband, who was driving the car, was pronounced dead at the Gemencheh Health Clinic.

He said the crash occurred while the victims were travelling from Gemencheh towards Bukit Rokan, while a Perodua Bezza was travelling from Bukit Rokan towards Gemencheh.

“Upon reaching the scene, the victim is believed to have lost control of the vehicle before veering into the opposite lane and colliding with the Perodua Bezza.

“As a result of the crash, the husband and wife were pronounced dead, while their four-year-old son was injured and taken to Tampin Hospital for further treatment,” he said in a statement on Monday.

Amiruddien said the bodies of both victims were taken to the Forensic Unit at Tampin Hospital for post-mortem examinations to determine the cause of death.

He urged anyone with information regarding the crash to contact the Traffic Police Station at the Tampin District Police Headquarters at 06-441 2502 or investigating officer Inspector Imanul Hassan Mohamad Shah.

“The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, and further investigations are ongoing,” he said.
