MB, EXCO Meeting With Tunku Nadzaruddin Cancelled Over Security Concerns

SEREMBAN: A meeting between Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim, members of the State Executive Council (EXCO), several State Legislative Assembly members and Tunku Nadzaruddin Tuanku Ja’afar at the Tuanku Ja’afar Royal Gallery today was cancelled due to security concerns.

According to a source, the meeting was called off after authorities advised that the session should not proceed.

The session, scheduled for 9am, was originally planned as a brief meeting between Ismail, the EXCO members, several government assemblymen and Tunku Nadzaruddin.

At about 10am, members of the media later proceeded to a hotel here after receiving information that Ismail and the EXCO members were at the premises.

However, attempts by the media to obtain further updates were unsuccessful after the hotel management did not allow reporters to enter the cafeteria area.

Ismail, together with the EXCO members and several assemblymen, was later seen leaving the hotel at about 10.30am.

It was previously reported that Ismail and the EXCO members were scheduled to attend an event with Tunku Nadzaruddin, which was intended, among other things, as an introductory session and to strengthen ties.

Also expected to attend were the Undang Yang Empat, Tunku Besar Tampin and Dato’ Shahbandar Sungai Ujong.
