Food poisoning case: Police recorded 15 individuals including catering operators

KUALA LUMPUR: The police have recorded the statements of 15 individuals, including a catering operator, to help investigate the death of a 17-year-old boy and a two-year-old girl suspected of food poisoning on June 8.

According to Bernama, Gombak District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Noor Ariffin Mohamad Nasir said that those who were called consisted of family members of the victims, pathologists, food providers and suppliers.

“Also making the total number of individuals who have been recorded as evidence so far in helping the investigation is 15 individuals and today’s action is to record the evidence of other poisoning victims,” ​​he said in a statement today.

Last Wednesday, the police recorded the statements of eight individuals to help the investigation in the food poisoning incident in Gombak.

The Selangor State Health Department (JKNS) is also conducting an investigation to detect new cases of food poisoning at the Gombak District Level Islamic Charitable Skills Program (KAMIL) involving 30 primary schools on June 8.

Selangor State Health Director Dr Ummi Kalthom Shamsudin was previously reported to have said that any related individuals who experience symptoms are requested to immediately seek treatment at a health facility to avoid unwanted food poisoning complications.

Previously, the department informed that a total of 82 out of 247 people were found to have symptoms of food poisoning after eating food on the program.
