Five, Including Four Women, Arrested for Obstructing Enforcement Officers at Forest Reserve

BERA: Five individuals, including four women, were arrested for allegedly obstructing authorities conducting an enforcement operation at the Tasek Bera Conservation Forest Reserve (Ramsar) here on Tuesday.

Bera District Police Chief Superintendent Zulkiflee Nazir said that during the operation, which began at about 10 am, the group allegedly set up barriers and provoked enforcement officers carrying out their duties.

He said all five individuals were arrested for further investigation, with the case being investigated under Section 186 of the Penal Code.

“The enforcement operation under the National Forestry Act 1984 was conducted by officers from the Pahang State Enforcement Unit (UPNP) together with the Pahang State Forestry Department (JPNP).

“Also involved in the operation were enforcement officers from the Bera District and Land Office, Bera District Police Headquarters (IPD), the General Operations Force (GOF) and the Department of Wildlife and National Parks (Perhilitan),” he said in a statement on Wednesday.

Zulkiflee advised the public not to spread unverified news or misinformation that could cause misunderstanding and disrupt public order.
