PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim celebrated the blessings of Aidiladha by performing Eid prayers with about 20,000 worshipers at the Putra Mosque here today.
According to Kosmo Online, Anwar, dressed in light blue Malay clothing, arrived at the Putra Mosque at approximately 7.50am before being greeted by the Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), Dr. Zulkifli Hasan.
Anwar’s arrival was accompanied by his wife, Datuk Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
Also present to perform the circumcision prayer was the Chief Secretary, Tan Sri Mohd. Zuki Ali.
At the same time, Anwar also spent a moment leading the recitation of the takbir with the thousands of pilgrims present, including foreigners, before performing the Aidiladha prayer at 8.23 a.m.
The Aidiladha circumcision prayer was led by the Grand Imam of the Putra Mosque, Salahuddin Ghozali before delivering a sermon titled ‘Aidiladha and Our Social Care’.
Before leaving, Anwar also spent time being friendly and shaking hands with the congregation present.
