BUDI MADANI Adjustment Begins Tomorrow – MOF

KUALA LUMPUR: The basic monthly eligibility limit for BUDI MADANI will be raised again from 200 litres to 300 litres starting tomorrow.

According to the Ministry of Finance (MOF) in a statement today, the adjustment will be implemented automatically for BUDI MADANI RON95 (BUDI95) and BUDI MADANI Diesel (BUDI Diesel) recipients, subject to their respective eligibility.

“A total of 16 million users enjoy RON95 at the subsidised price of RM1.99 per litre.

“Of that number of users, more than 700,000 users are eligible to also enjoy subsidised diesel at RM2.10 per litre,” it said.

For more than half a million eligible private diesel vehicle owners of pickup trucks and jeeps/SUVs, the MOF informed that they may apply for an additional eligibility of 100 litres per month.

With this addition, their total monthly eligibility can be increased from 300 litres to 400 litres.

“Eligible pickup and jeep/SUV owners who have not yet applied for the additional allocation may do so through the BUDI MADANI portal at www.budimadani.gov.my.

“For pickup and jeep/SUV owners who had previously been approved for the additional 100 litres, their eligibility will be automatically adjusted to 400 litres starting 1 September,” the ministry said.

According to MOF, the reinstatement of the monthly eligibility limit takes into account increasingly organised supply management, stricter enforcement, the nation’s strong economic performance, and the government’s financial capability.

The measure also takes into account the needs of the people who have to travel long distances for daily affairs and small traders who depend on vehicles to earn a living.

“The MADANI Government will continue to ensure that fuel subsidies are channelled to eligible Malaysians, while strengthening efforts to curb leakage, smuggling, and misuse,” it said.
