AADK, MAG Intend to Renew MoU to Strengthen Drug Abuse Prevention

SEPANG: The National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK) and the Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) intend to strengthen strategic cooperation through the signing of a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to intensify efforts in preventing drug and substance abuse among the workforce of the aviation group.

AADK Director-General, Datuk Ruslin Jusoh, said this was among the matters discussed during his courtesy call on MAG Chief Executive Officer Captain Nasaruddin A. Bakar at the Malaysia Airlines Berhad Academy today.

He said the new MoU is expected to strengthen the ongoing commitment of both parties in drug prevention and enforcement efforts, as well as to raise awareness about the threat of prohibited substances.

“Today I paid a courtesy call on the CEO of MAG to discuss cooperation between AADK and MAG in strengthening drug abuse prevention programmes among MAG employees.

“Our hope is that with this cooperation, we can empower not only at the AADK level, but at the same time strengthen MAG’s role, particularly Malaysia Airlines, in programmes involving drug prevention in Malaysia,” he told reporters after the courtesy call.

Also present were AADK Deputy Director-General (Operations) Zainudin Abdullah and delegations from both parties.

Ruslin explained that among the main focuses of the cooperation is the implementation of specific prevention programmes such as Drug-Free Workplace (TEKAD) at MAG’s premises and facilities.

He said this initiative is an important proactive step to ensure the integrity and safety of aviation operations.

“This proactive initiative is a critical safety measure that needs to be taken immediately to ensure the integrity and safety level of aviation operations.

“This collaborative step is expected to create a safer, healthier work environment free from the threat of drugs for the well-being of the nation’s aviation services,” he said.
