Proposal for Forensic Audit of FELDA to Be Brought to Cabinet – PM Anwar

SERDANG: The proposal for a forensic audit to be conducted on allegations of misconduct involving the Federal Land Development Authority (FELDA) will be brought to the Cabinet meeting for discussion, said Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

“We will bring (the matter) to the Cabinet (for) discussion,” the Prime Minister told reporters after attending the 2026 National Maulidur Rasul Celebration at Dewan Besar, Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Cultural and Arts Centre (PKKSSAAS), Universiti Putra Malaysia, here on Tuesday.

Anwar said this when commenting on the suggestion by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi for a forensic audit to be conducted to identify whether there had been abuse of power, breach of trust or governance violations in the management of the agency.

Yesterday, Ahmad Zahid was quoted as saying that a management audit alone is insufficient considering that the issues involving FELDA have been ongoing for a long time and have resulted in losses reaching billions of ringgit.

Elaborating further on the issue of FELDA’s management, the Prime Minister explained that he is now awaiting a full report from the special task force established to investigate the matter before making any official announcement.

He informed that the special task force has begun its work and the findings of the investigation are expected to be presented in the near future.

The Prime Minister also gave an assurance that the results of the investigation will be made public, in the same approach taken regarding the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report on Tabung Haji previously.
