Police Hunt Individuals Scattering Nails at Cybersouth Flyover

SEPANG: Police are actively tracking down the perpetrator believed to have repeatedly and deliberately scattered nails at the Cybersouth flyover here.

Sepang District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Norhizam Bahaman said, the first report was received by his department on July 15 and the latest, an email related to the case was received by him on Wednesday.

According to him, the case is classified under Section 268 of the Penal Code for intentionally committing a dangerous or harmful act to the public.

“Police are conducting monitoring at the location and to date we are still identifying the individual involved in scattering the nails.

“Recently, my personnel from the Dengkil Police Station themselves collected nails at the location,” he told reporters after the Independence Month Celebration and Kibar Jalur Gemilang 2026 at the Sepang District Police Headquarters (IPD) level at Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina (SJKC) Dengkil here on Thursday.

He added, the police will ensure that action is taken to ensure the safety of the community, especially in the Sepang area.

Therefore, Norhizam said, he urges the public who have information to channel it immediately to his department to assist investigations.

In a separate case, Norhizam informed that the Sepang IPD Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division (BSPT) will take action against motorcyclists who disturb public peace in the early morning in the Salak Perdana area.

He stressed, information has been received by the police and initial action has been taken including patrols in the area.

“We will track down this group because there is concern about the misuse of vape (electronic cigarettes) containing prohibited substances.

“We hope parents will play their role to ensure their children do not roam around in the early morning to avoid any mishaps,” he said.

He added, action against these riders can also be taken under Section 42 of the Road Transport Act 1987, in addition to investigations against parents.
