Agong Orders Thorough Probe into RCI Tabung Haji Report, ‘Leaving No Stone Unturned’

KUALA LUMPUR: The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim, today decreed that the investigation regarding the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) Report on Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) be carried out ‘down to the wormholes’.

Through a post on the official Facebook page of Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, His Majesty decreed that the step is important to ensure that every party responsible is subjected to appropriate action, besides ensuring that the same matter does not recur in the future.

In addition, Sultan Ibrahim also decreed that the investigation regarding the matter be carried out thoroughly, without compromise against any party found to be guilty.

“Do not let anyone escape action if indeed found guilty. What is important, matters like this cannot recur,” His Majesty decreed.

Earlier, His Majesty granted an audience to the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, and the meeting lasted more than an hour at Istana Bukit Tunku today.

In that meeting, His Majesty was presented with a briefing on the contents of the RCI TH Report, as well as current issues involving the Federal Land Development Authority (FELDA).

The RCI Report, published on 29 July last, revealed various important findings regarding the management and governance of the institution for the period 2014 to 2020.

A special sitting of the Dewan Rakyat will be held on 11 August to debate the report.
