KUALA LUMPUR: The founder and broadcaster of Bapakku FM radio, Ismahalil Hamzah, managed to share a final video message before serving his 30‑year prison sentence as decided by the Court of Appeal in Putrajaya today.

The video, lasting more than one minute, was shared by his wife, Nor Haslinda Abdul Manaf, to friends in the Bapakku FM WhatsApp group.

Ismahalil, 53, who embraced his wife and was accompanied by their child, Isma Hakim, appeared calm when giving his message.

“Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh. Alhamdulillah… Alhamdulillah, Allah has given this decision. God willing, thank you all friends, thank you all.

“To my children, pray for your father, perhaps this is my portion. To my lawyers, to everyone.

“By God, I do not wish to blame anyone. All is Allah’s decree. Thank you all for your prayers. We have tried and we have prayed, God willing,” he said.

Ismahalil said that this is his final video before he embarks on his next chapter of life.

“God willing. By God, thank you all my friends… thank you all. Hakim, take good care of your mother. Ibu (mother), stay loyal to your father, God willing… God willing, love you,” he said.

This message clearly touched the hearts of many, as Linda’s face appeared very sorrowful and tearful beside him.

Ismahalil, who runs the internet radio Bapakku FM together with Warung Bapakku FM in Gombak, also advised that the fate of the warung (food stall) operations be decided by his friends.

“If possible, let us continue the warung, continue it. If not able, we just close it, God willing. All my friends, God willing, this is the final video, God willing I am content.

“Teachers are also good, everyone is good. God willing, love you all. Wabillahi taufik wal hidayah, wassalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,” he concluded.

Earlier, the Court of Appeal in Putrajaya today sentenced Ismahalil to 30 years’ imprisonment, thereby setting aside the High Court’s decision that had acquitted and released him on drug trafficking charges in September 2021.

The decision was made unanimously by a three‑judge panel chaired by Datuk Noorin Badaruddin, together with Datuk Radzi Abdul Hamid and Datuk Meor Hashim Abdul Hamid.

Noorin in the decision informed that the 30‑year prison sentence begins today.
