Zayn Rayyan’s Mother has been brought home as part of crime scene reenactment
PETALING JAYA: On Monday, June 9, the mother of Zayn Rayyan Abdul Mateen, an autistic child who was killed, was taken to her residence at the Idaman Apartment in Damansara Damai.
It is thought that the visit is intended to recreate the events leading up to Zayn Rayyan’s disappearance and the discovery of his body on December 6 of last year.
In order to help with investigations, Zayn Rayyan’s parents are presently serving a six-day extension of remand.
The pair was first placed under seven days of remand beginning on June 1 in order to support the police’s murder investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
The parents of Zayn Rayyan were taken into custody in Puncak Alam on Friday, May 31, at around 11:00 a.m.
Six-year-old Zayn Rayyan was reported missing in Damansara Damai on December 5 of last year. The following day, his body was discovered next to a creek, around 200 metres from his residence at the Idaman Apartment.
Following a post-mortem, it was determined that he had died due to injuries to his neck and body.
