MARAN: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to officiate the Settlers’ Day and the 70th anniversary of the Federal Land Development Authority (FELDA) celebration at the Tun Abdul Razak Stadium, Jengka, here today.

Anwar, who is also Finance Minister, is expected to deliver his officiating speech at 2.30 p.m. to recognise the services and sacrifices of the settlers who have been the backbone of FELDA’s development for 70 years since 1956.

The celebration will also be attended by Deputy Prime Minister who is also Rural and Regional Development Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, and Pahang Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail.

At the event, the Prime Minister is scheduled to present the FELDA 2025 Settler Figure Award, the FELDA 2025 Generation Figure Award, the FELDA 2025 Youth Figure Award, and the FELDA Scheme Excellence Award (AKRF).

The Settlers’ Day and FELDA’s 70th Anniversary celebration is held, among others, to commemorate seven decades of FELDA’s establishment as a land development and rural community institution that has successfully transformed the socioeconomic status of settler families nationwide.

The initiative also serves as a platform to appreciate the services of FELDA’s pioneer generation and to showcase the organisation’s achievements in driving economic transformation, digitalisation, technological innovation, environmental sustainability, and community well-being.

The Settlers’ Day and FELDA’s 70th Anniversary celebration is the culmination of a four-day programme that began on 4 July, with more than 40 activities organised encompassing technology, sports, education, innovation, culture, and spirituality.
