Johor Polls: PM Anwar Intensifies PH Campaign Momentum With Packed Schedule From Morning To Night
KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called on Johor voters, including those residing outside the state and in Singapore, to return home to fulfil their responsibility of voting in the 17th State Election (PRN) this Saturday.
The Prime Minister, who is also Pakatan Harapan (PH) Chairman, also urged voters to give their mandate to the coalition’s candidates who are of integrity, trustworthy, and work for everyone regardless of race or background.
“During the Malam Anak Muda Kempas, Pulai programme in Johor, I called on all Johoreans, including those in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and anywhere else, to return and fulfil their responsibility this 11 July.
“Johor needs a leadership line-up that is not merely good at making promises, but is brave enough to work, solve problems, and bring this state forward,” he said in a Facebook post.
Earlier, Anwar was reported to have intensified the Johor PRN campaign momentum through a series of packed tours with eight programmes in the northern part of the state to strengthen public support for PH candidates and machinery.
The Prime Minister’s tour today brought him to engage with voters in the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) areas of Layang-Layang, Senggarang, Semerah, Bukit Naning, Pemanis, Gambir, Serom, as well as the Palong Timur area under the Buloh Kasap DUN.
Anwar began his agenda as early as 8.55 a.m. with the ‘PMX Santai Breakfast with the Layang-Layang DUN Community’ programme at Warung Pak Din, Kampung Sahri, in Simpang Renggam, before being scheduled to attend the Friendly Gathering event at the Senggarang DUN in Batu Pahat at 10 a.m.
He was then scheduled to join the People’s Feast at Vila Kemboja, Semerah in Batu Pahat at 11 a.m., followed by the ‘Temu Anwar’ programme and the Launching of Bukit Naning DUN Volunteers at a restaurant in Muar at 12.15 p.m.
In the afternoon, Anwar was scheduled to attend the Harapan Tour with PMX at Dataran Putra Palong Timur 2 at 3.10 p.m., followed by the Friendly Session with PMX at the Pemanis DUN in Kampung Jawa, Pemanis DUN, in Segamat at 5 p.m.
The tour continued in the evening with the Friendly Session with PMX at the Gambir DUN at Medan Selera Sin Tian Di, Bukit Gambir at 8 p.m.
The Tambun Member of Parliament was scheduled to conclude his programmes with the Johor Forward, Vote Hope tour at the Serom DUN at the Mega Supermarket compound, Sungai Mati in Tangkak at 9 p.m.
