Malaysia Extends Condolences To Philippines Following Earthquake

PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia has extended its deepest condolences and sympathy to the government and people of the Philippines following the earthquake that struck off the waters of Sarangani in Southern Mindanao last Monday.

In a statement today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Malaysia is deeply saddened by the loss of lives, injuries, and displacement caused by the disaster.

“The government and people of Malaysia express solidarity with the people of the Philippines as they endure this difficult period of grief, recovery, and rebuilding,” the statement read.

According to Wisma Putra, Malaysia also stands ready to extend appropriate assistance to the Philippine government if needed, to support ongoing emergency relief and recovery efforts.

Malaysia also expressed its appreciation to the Philippine authorities for providing assistance to Malaysians in the affected areas, including those residing in General Santos City and its surrounding areas.
