MAKKAH: The president of religious affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, Sheikh Dr Abdulrahman Al-Sudais, has announced the successful implementation of the presidency’s operational plan for the 1447 AH Hajj season, confirming that its spiritual, educational, and guidance objectives were fully achieved.

He said the plan significantly enhanced the pilgrims’ spiritual experience, ensuring high standards of quality, organisation, and operational excellence across all services.

During the Hajj season, the presidency launched 166 specialised initiatives focused on enrichment, awareness, and guidance, including 97 initiatives at the Grand Mosque and 69 at the Prophet’s Mosque. These programmes collectively benefited more than 6.8 million people and generated over 46.8 million digital and on-site interactions worldwide.

Sheikh Al-Sudais highlighted the presidency’s global outreach efforts, including multilingual translations of the Arafah, Eid Al-Adha, and Friday sermons. These initiatives were supported by digital platforms aimed at promoting Islam’s message of moderation and strengthening Saudi Arabia’s religious leadership internationally.

He noted that more than 683,000 direct guidance services and over 95,000 religious inquiries were provided during the season, while more than 32,000 pilgrims benefited from instant translation services.

In addition, the Presidency delivered 1,868 religious lessons and lectures, organised 174,710 Qur’an study circles, distributed over 160,000 copies of the Holy Qur’an and 236,605 educational publications, and presented 872,943 awareness gifts to pilgrims.

Al-Sudais credited the success of the Hajj season to the continued support of the Saudi leadership, strong institutional coordination, and the dedication of 13,879 volunteers along with partner agencies.

The announcement underscores Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts to enhance the spiritual journey of pilgrims through advanced services, digital innovation, and large-scale organisational excellence.
