Police issued almost 900 traffic fines to foreigners during a seven-day operation

KOTA BHARU: 914 foreigners were summoned by police for various traffic infractions during the May 21–27 Integrated Ops Lejang.

52 foreigners were also seized during the operation, according to Kelantan police head Datuk Muhamad Zaki Harun. They included 31 Rohingyas, 8 Indonesians, 6 Pakistanis, 4 Bangladeshis, and 1 each from India, Nepal, and Thailand.

According to him, the operation targeted foreign drivers and motorcycle riders, particularly those who were hauling scrap metal on three-wheelers.

In a statement on Wednesday, May 29, he added, “We also seized six motorcycles, three cars, a forklift, and a sack of copper.”

It was mentioned by Muhammad Zaki that 276 cars were seized. They consist of 26 automobiles, 13 three-wheeled motorcycles, one van, one lorry, and 232 motorcycles.

In order to protect everyone using the road, he urged drivers to abide by traffic laws and regulations. He emphasised that the police take traffic infractions seriously because they have a negative impact on people’s lives and cause concerns for the community. – BERNAMA
