Iran Warns US After Alleged Ceasefire Violations, Says “Tehran Will Never Bow to Pressure.”

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has issued a stern warning to the United States following alleged ceasefire violations and fresh military tensions near the Strait of Hormuz, declaring that Iran will never surrender under pressure.

In a statement posted on X on Friday, Araghchi accused Washington of escalating conflicts whenever diplomatic progress appears possible.

“Every time a diplomatic solution is on the table, the US opts for a reckless military adventure,” he wrote, questioning whether the actions were part of a pressure campaign or an attempt to sabotage negotiations. “Iranians never bow to pressure, and diplomacy is always the victim,” he added.

The remarks came after Iran’s strategic Bahman Pier on Qeshm Island was reportedly targeted during overnight clashes near the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian media outlets said sections of the commercial port sustained damage during the confrontation, though no casualties were reported.

According to Iran’s Fars News Agency, Iranian forces responded swiftly to what they described as hostile operations in the waterway, forcing attacking units to retreat after suffering losses. Explosions were also reported near the southern city of Bandar Abbas.

US media outlet Fox News claimed American forces carried out strikes on facilities in Qeshm and Bandar Abbas, while insisting the attacks did not signal the beginning of a full-scale war. Meanwhile, Israeli-linked media denied Tel Aviv’s involvement, although Iranian outlets alleged that UAE fighter jets participated in the operation.

Iran’s Tasnim News Agency accused the UAE of acting as a proxy for Israel in the confrontation, describing the attack as part of a broader regional escalation against Tehran.

Araghchi also rejected claims by US intelligence officials suggesting Iran’s missile and launcher capabilities had significantly weakened. Dismissing the reports, he stated that Iran’s military readiness had actually increased and stressed that the country remained fully prepared to defend its people and territory.

Regional tensions have intensified since renewed US-Israeli military operations against Iran began earlier this year, despite ongoing diplomatic discussions between Tehran and Washington. Iran later responded with missile and drone attacks targeting Israeli-linked positions and US interests across the region.

Although a Pakistan-mediated ceasefire temporarily reduced hostilities in April, negotiations failed to produce a breakthrough amid growing mistrust between the two sides. Tehran has since insisted that any future ceasefire talks would depend on the removal of what it calls an illegal US naval blockade against Iran.
