Jordan and Bahrain Call for Strengthened US-Iran Ceasefire to Secure Regional Stability

AQABA:  Jordan’s King Abdullah II and Bahrain’s Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa have called for intensified international efforts to strengthen the US-Iran ceasefire agreement, stressing its importance for regional stability.

The discussions took place during a meeting in Aqaba on Friday, according to the Jordan News Agency, and were also attended by Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II.

Talks focused on the strong bilateral relations between Jordan and Bahrain, as well as ways to expand cooperation across multiple sectors.

King Abdullah reaffirmed Jordan’s solidarity with Bahrain and other Gulf Cooperation Council states, emphasizing that the security of the Arab Gulf is closely linked to overall regional stability.

He stressed the need for greater international engagement to reinforce the US-Iran ceasefire arrangement, noting that any future agreement aimed at ending hostilities must ensure the security of Arab countries.

The leaders also discussed the importance of enhancing Arab coordination to address the economic impact of recent regional tensions.

For his part, the Bahraini Crown Prince expressed appreciation for Jordan’s continued support and highlighted the importance of expanding cooperation and exploring new opportunities between the two nations.
