Iran Claims Major Strikes on U.S. and Israeli Assets in ‘Operation True Promise 4’ as Regional Tensions Escalate

TEHRAN: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on Friday the launch of a massive, coordinated strike involving ballistic missiles and drones against U.S. and Israeli military positions. The operation, labeled as the 92nd wave of “Operation True Promise 4,” marks a significant escalation in the ongoing regional conflict that began earlier this year.

In a statement released via state media, the IRGC Navy and Aerospace Force claimed to have executed “combined attacks” designed to dismantle strategic surveillance and naval capabilities.

According to the IRGC’s official communique, the operation focused on three primary geographical fronts:

Kuwait: Ballistic missiles reportedly targeted a concentration of U.S. amphibious Landing Craft Utility (LCU) vessels at Shuwaikh Port.

Bahrain: A drone strike allegedly destroyed an AR-327 long-range early warning radar system located at Jabal Al Dukhan.

Israel: The IRGC claimed to have struck the Ramat David Airbase, a major hub for Israeli F-16 squadrons, with two ballistic missiles. Additionally, they reported targeting over 50 locations in Tel Aviv and surrounding areas using Khorramshahr-4 multi-warhead missiles.

The IRGC framed these strikes as part of a “fire-for-fire” strategy in retaliation for the events of February 28, 2026. Iranian officials maintain that a joint U.S.-Israeli operation on that date led to the assassination of senior leadership, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

While the Iranian government confirmed Khamenei’s death on March 1, marking a turning point in the war, Washington and Tel Aviv have historically remained cautious in their official acknowledgments of specific decapitation strikes, even as regional tensions reached a boiling point.

Despite the detailed claims from Tehran, there has been no independent verification of the total damage or casualty counts.

The Pentagon has not confirmed the loss of the LCU vessels or the radar system in Bahrain, though sources indicate heightened alert levels across Gulf bases.

Israel: While acknowledging incoming fire and activating its “Iron Dome” and “Arrow” defense systems, the IDF has not confirmed direct hits on the Ramat David Airbase.

The United Kingdom: Prime Minister Keir Starmer reportedly spoke with Kuwaiti leadership on Friday morning to condemn the attacks and discuss the deployment of “Rapid Sentry” air defense systems to the region.

Military analysts warn that the sheer frequency of these “waves” now nearing 100 in just over a month suggests a sustained war of attrition. With Iran utilizing its most advanced missile technology and the U.S. reportedly losing at least two F-35 fighter jets to Iranian air defenses in the last 48 hours, the risk of a full-scale continental war remains at an all-time high.

“The regional architecture is being tested to its absolute limit,” said one security analyst. “We are no longer looking at ‘tit-for-tat’ skirmishes; this is a systematic attempt to blind and push back U.S. and Israeli presence in the Middle East.”
