KUALA KRAI: At approximately 6:15 p.m. yesterday, an old man was discovered dead in an oil palm farm close to Pasir Layang, Kampung Bunut Saih.
According to Supt Mazlan Mamat, the chief of Kuala Krai district police, the 70-year-old man is thought to have passed away approximately five days ago.
“Further inquiry found that the victim was reported missing on Wednesday. There are bite marks on the victim’s left and right hands that are thought to be from a wild animal.
He stated in a statement today, “According to his family, the victim had health issues, including diabetes, heart problems, and Alzheimer’s, and he often forgot about what he was doing.”
He continued by saying that the body was brought to Sultan Ismail Petra Hospital for an examination, and the forensics specialist confirmed that the body’s decaying state made it impossible to determine the cause of death.
He said there are no criminal aspects involved in the case, which has been characterised as a sudden death. – BERNAMA
