Raja Permaisuri Agong Raja Zarith Sofiah Attends Royal Iftar with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and Foreign Diplomats
Kuala Lumpur: Her Majesty Raja Permaisuri Agong Raja Zarith Sofiah attended and graciously hosted a royal iftar gathering with members of the Malaysian Cabinet and foreign diplomatic representatives at Istana Negara on Tuesday.

The event was also attended by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his wife Datuk Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, along with Deputy Prime Ministers Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.
Several Cabinet ministers were present, including Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Hannah Yeoh, Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir, and Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Dzulkefly Ahmad, as well as deputy ministers and senior government officials.

Also in attendance were Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, Speaker of the Dewan Rakyat Tan Sri Johari Abdul, and foreign diplomats from countries including Yemen, Qatar, Bahrain, Egypt, Indonesia, Palestine, Brunei, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, Maldives, the United Arab Emirates, and Azerbaijan.
The ceremony was further attended by Bernama Chairman Datuk Seri Wong Chun Wai, Editor-in-Chief Arul Rajoo Durar Raj, and Acting Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Economic News Services Harlina Samson.
Her Majesty also performed the Maghrib prayer in congregation with invited guests at the Main Surau of Istana Negara, led by Federal Territories Mufti Ahmad Fauwaz Fadzil.
The royal iftar gathering reflects Malaysia’s tradition of diplomacy, unity, and respect during the holy month of Ramadan, bringing together national leaders and international representatives in a spirit of harmony.
