IPOH: A Myanmar national was found dead at a farmhouse in Kampung Kelawar, Tanjong Malim, on Friday (Jan 30), prompting the arrest of two suspects in connection with the case.

Muallim district police chief Superintendent Mohd Hasni Mohd Nasir said authorities received a report at about 11am from the victim’s employer, who discovered the body during a visit to the farm located approximately 1.5km from the main road.

According to police, the employer found the house door open and the victim lying on the kitchen floor. The victim, a 25-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. Initial investigations indicated injuries consistent with an attack.

“The victim’s body has been sent to Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital in Ipoh for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death,” Mohd Hasni said in a statement on Friday night.

He added that police have arrested two Myanmar nationals, both aged 39, to assist with investigations. A remand application will be filed as investigations proceed under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

Mohd Hasni also urged members of the public with information related to the case to contact the Muallim police headquarters at 05-452 8222 or the district’s Criminal Investigation Department head, Assistant Superintendent Mutazlim Hamdan, at 011-1091 2754.
