PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called on Malaysians to remain united and firmly reject divisive and bigoted sentiments, stressing that national progress depends on collective effort and mutual respect.

Speaking at the launch of the Cerita Malaysia Kita tourism campaign at Sunway Lagoon on Friday (Jan 30), Anwar said success for the country is not a competition between communities, but a shared journey that requires participation from all Malaysians, regardless of race or religion.

“Success is not a zero-sum game. It requires the support and contribution of everyone. A country can either prosper or decline; we must choose to succeed,” he said.

The Prime Minister emphasized that uplifting one another and working together were essential for Malaysia to realize its full potential. He added that unity should be reflected not only in policy but also in everyday attitudes, work ethic, and interactions with others.

Anwar also highlighted the importance of strong collaboration between the government, private sector, and tourism industry players to ensure the success of the Visit Malaysia 2026 initiative.

“This spirit must be reflected in everything we do, from our smiles and our work to our attitude. We need the participation of everyone if we are to make Malaysia proud,” he said.

The event was also attended by Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Steven Sim, Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, and Sunway Group founder and chairman Tan Sri Dr Jeffrey Cheah.
