PUTRAJAYA: The prime minister on Tuesday stressed the need for the immediate and effective implementation of development projects to ensure long-term benefits for the well-being of the people across Malaysia.

Speaking after a meeting with the top management of the Implementation Coordination Unit under the Prime Minister’s Department (ICU JPM), including representatives from its headquarters and all states, the Prime Minister said the government’s primary focus must remain on delivering tangible outcomes that can be felt by Malaysians of all races.

He underscored that development initiatives should be carried out comprehensively and efficiently, with an emphasis on projects that directly improve the quality of life and socio-economic welfare of the rakyat over the long term.

The prime minister also called on civil servants to promptly address lingering implementation issues, urging them to act based on sound judgment, established governance principles, and existing regulations to prevent administrative bottlenecks from hindering progress.

In addition, he highlighted the importance of strengthening strategic cooperation and coordination among ministries, government agencies, and the private sector at the federal, state, and district levels.

Such collaboration, he said, is essential to ensure that no segment of society is left behind as Malaysia continues its journey towards becoming a developed nation.
