KUALA LUMPUR: According to Deputy Prime Minister Fadillah Yusof, Malaysia is willing to assist Gaza in rebuilding its water delivery system after the crisis is resolved.

Fadillah, who is also the minister of energy transition and water transformation, stated that Palestine had expressed hope that Malaysia would provide various sorts of aid once the crisis was resolved and Gaza’s reconstruction began.

This came after a meeting with Palestinian water minister Mazen Ghunaim on the sidelines of a high-level leadership meeting at the 10th World Water Forum in Bali, Indonesia, Bernama said.

“At the moment, the supply of clean water there is seriously disturbed. We are prepared to provide technical support if we are allowed admission into their country.

Fadillah was quoted as saying, “This requires further discussion with the Palestinian side on the methods, timing, and ways of implementation.”

Malaysia has provided almost a thousand tonnes of humanitarian aid to Gaza since the start of the Hamas-Israel conflict, which, according to the UN, has killed over 35,000 people in the Gaza Strip.
