KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 2: The Harimau Malaya supporters group, known as Ultras Malaya, staged a protest at the US Embassy on Thursday night against Israel’s blockade of the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF).

According to Sinar Harian, the rally began around 9 p.m., with participants donning black shirts and marching approximately 300 meters to the embassy. Many waved Palestinian flags and carried banners emblazoned with the message “Free Palestine.” Chants condemning Israel’s actions reverberated throughout the demonstration.

The protest comes in response to Israel’s interception of the GSF mission, which included 23 Malaysian volunteers who were detained by the Israeli military in international waters earlier in the day.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim strongly condemned the Israeli army’s actions, describing the detention as cruel and inhumane.

He stressed that the Malaysian volunteers were part of a humanitarian mission to assist the vulnerable population of Gaza, including women and children suffering from hunger, illness and war.

“This was a mission of compassion, not conflict. The actions of the Zionist regime are unacceptable and must be rejected by the international community,” Anwar said.

The Director-General of the Sumud Nusantara Command Centre (SNCC), Datuk Dr. Sani Araby Abdul Alim Araby, earlier confirmed that the flotilla’s vessels were intercepted by Israeli forces in international waters as they attempted to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza.

The GSF mission, comprising over 500 activists from 45 countries, has drawn international attention and calls for accountability, with critics denouncing Israel’s blockade as a violation of international law and human rights.
