SHAH ALAM: Faisal Halim, a winger for Selangor FC (SFC), is showing improvement following his third operation on Thursday.
Datuk Seri Shahril Mokhtar, head of the SFC technical committee, disclosed today that the national team player is craving nasi kandar.
Shahril stated that he routinely speaks with Faisal via voice notes.
Faisal was seriously injured in an acid attack on May 5 and is being treated at a private hospital in Shah Alam.
“He can speak more clearly now,” Shahril stated when we met in the hospital compound today.
“His appetite has also increased. He can already start eating regular things rather than just soft foods.
“I heard that he is craving for nasi kandar.”
Shahril noted that Faisal, also known as Mickey, has been transferred from intensive care to a routine ward.
“Visits are still not permitted. His condition is steady yet sensitive.
“The doctors are keeping an eye on him, and his next procedure is scheduled for next week,” Shahril explained.
“The (early) skin allograft procedure went well.”
“He will then undergo a homograft operation, which involves removing skin from other parts of his body and transplanting it to the wounded locations.
“Faisal will remain in hospital for at least another two weeks.”
The acid attack left Faisal with fourth-degree burns on numerous parts of his body.
