8 foreigners suspected of killing fellow countrymen were arrested by the police

KUALA LUMPUR: Eight foreigners were detained by the police in Sungai Buloh to help investigate the death of their compatriot who died while being treated at Cyberjaya Hospital, last Friday.

According to Berita Harian, Sepang Police Chief, Wan Kamarul Azran Wan Yusof, said the police had previously received a report from the hospital’s medical officer who informed that the 30-year-old victim was sent in an unconscious state.

He said, the victim was found to be bleeding in the head and hands, died while seeking treatment.

“Based on the investigation, the eight foreign men beat their compatriots to the point of death at a factory in Kampung Pulau Meranti, Sepang.

“The police also managed to find a stick believed to be used to hit the victim in the factory fence area facing the cabin where the victim lives.

The investigation found that the incident was caused by drunkenness and a disagreement, he said in a statement.

According to Wan Kamarul, the first suspect is a factory worker and has a valid work permit while the second suspect does not have work documents and works in Sungai Buloh.

He said, the police opened investigation papers under Section 302 of the Penal Code which provides for hanging to death if convicted.

“The investigation is still ongoing and the public is advised not to make any speculations or share false information regarding the incident to the point of interfering with the investigation process, he said.
