The 58th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (AMM) and its series of related meetings enter their final day today, capping off a week of intensive regional diplomacy and dialogue under Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship 2025.

Today’s agenda features a full slate of high-level engagements with ASEAN’s Dialogue Partners, regional stakeholders, and international counterparts, as ministers seek to consolidate progress and advance shared priorities under the Chairmanship’s theme of “Inclusivity and Sustainability.”

One of the key highlights is the Trilateral Meeting between Malaysia, Turkiye, and the ASEAN Secretariat, aimed at strengthening the framework for ASEAN-Turkiye cooperation. The session is expected to explore new avenues of collaboration, particularly in areas such as trade, education, technology, and cultural exchange.

The final day also includes two significant ASEAN Post-Ministerial Conferences, the first with the United Kingdom, followed by a session with the European Union. Both meetings are anticipated to focus on deepening strategic partnerships, enhancing economic ties, and addressing global challenges such as climate change, cybersecurity, and regional stability.

In addition, foreign ministers will participate in several key regional meetings:

  • The 15th East Asia Summit Foreign Ministers’ Meeting

  • The 13th Mekong–Republic of Korea (ROK) Cooperation Ministerial Meeting

  • The 32nd ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF)

These platforms provide critical opportunities to exchange views on pressing geopolitical developments and to coordinate responses to regional and global security challenges.

A notable inclusion in the final day’s program is the Fourth Conference on Cooperation Among East Asian Countries for Palestinian Development (CEAPAD IV). This meeting reaffirms regional commitment to supporting development efforts in Palestine and promoting sustainable peace in the Middle East.

The day’s proceedings will conclude with a press conference by Malaysia’s Foreign Minister, Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, who will deliver Malaysia’s key takeaways and outline future priorities stemming from the week’s discussions.

The 58th AMM, held from July 8 to 11 in Kuala Lumpur, brought together foreign ministers from ASEAN’s ten member states, its Dialogue Partners, and sectoral partners, featuring 24 ministerial-level meetings across a range of sectors.

As Malaysia wraps up this pivotal week of diplomacy, the focus remains firmly on fostering an ASEAN that is more inclusive, sustainable, and proactive in addressing regional and global challenges.
